Introducing The Neighborhood Of Paradise Green

Paradise Green is hands down one of the most popular and visible neighborhoods in Stratford. The community of Paradise Green was built as a planned community in the 1920′s. In my opinion, they planned well.

The most visible part of Paradise Green is the Green on Main Street. You can’t miss the green when you drive through the center of town. It really is like a little bit of paradise right there in the center of a light commercial zone.

There is great pizza to eat at Paradise Pizza, Curtain Corner for you interior decorating, and Hovan’s Florist to please your sweetie. There are lots of other stores too, that you can eat and or play in.

Paradise Green was actually designed around Longbrook Park. The style of homes in the area are consistently tudors and colonials. The neighborhood maintains their homes and they keep their yards neat and tidy. The lot sizes are good too, not too big and not too small. As a general rule Paradise Green homes are built far away enough from another for most peoples comfort.

There truly is a strong sense of community in Paradise Green and you’ll have to look long and hard for run down homes. Crime is low as well, but like in even the best neighborhoods in the world, there are isolated incidents.

Spend some time at Longbrook Park. You’ll love the playgrounds if you have kids. That’s right, playgrounds. There are more than one. There is also a little league field as well as a football field. My favorite part about the park is the old stone walls, mature oak trees, and Brewster Pond. Brewster pond is a shallow pond that is small enough to walk around that attracts the local geese.

If you’re a commuter you’ll be happy to note that walking to the train station from here is a possibility depending on exactly where you are located in Paradise Green. If you are a little further away you can bike to the train station and lock your bike up when you get there. The ride to Grand Central on the express is about an hour and fifteen minutes.
