The neighborhood of Lordship in Stratford CT is debatably the most affluent neighborhood here in town. It does have some of the nicest homes and the most quant and quiet nighborhoods. Lorship has a true community feel that most neighborhoods any place in Stratford or the rest of the state of CT will have a tough time rivaling.
Lorship is a special neighborhood. I know this. I spend a lot of time in Stratford’s Lordship. I just love being on and near the water and Lorship gives me that opportunity in many ways. By foot or on a bike gives you a much different feeling than driving through with your car. Park it and walk to get the true feel.
My favorite thing about Lorship are the beaches, especially Long Beach. The piles of shells to explore and the miles of beach to walk will keep you coming back.
Short Beach is a nice beach too but it’s a bit busier and you will like it for different reasons I think. Do you like golf? There’s a really nice par 3 course in Lorship at Short Beach called “Short Beach Golf Course”. Not very original I know but good course to spend a few hours on.
The best part about playing a round at Short Beach is the price. You pay $5 a year for your I.D. and then you only have to pay $8 a round. Good golf course in Lordship, great price.
Another great feature of the Lordship community is The Stratford Sea Wall. It’s a great place to park the car to read your paper and drink your coffee. Even better, get there on a Sunday morning and enjoy the solitude as you watch the sunrise while sitting on the wall. Much better than earling AM television.
